Assigning Allplan components to CPIXML components

This table shows how Allplan assigns its components to CPIXML components.

General notes

• Allplan exports all dimensions in meters.
• Finishing surfaces of rooms and room-specific smart symbols (windows, doors) are exported with the room ID of the associated room.
• Allplan has to reshape components with many recesses during export; this can take some time with complex components. To speed up the export process, you can split up components of this kind.
• Allplan uses a blue material definition for rooms and a red one for openings. (In iTWO Viewer you can hide openings using the Config palette.)
• CPIXML export was tested with the iTWO versions 2.3 and 3.0.

Notes on designing in Allplan

• To create slab recesses that are to be in accordance with VOB, you must use the Recess, Opening in Slab tool (How). VOB regulations are not applied to slab recesses you create with the polyline entry tools (Multi, Minus).
  

  Activate Recess, Opening in Slab/Plate in one of the following ways

  • Menu bar: Create Architecture Basic: Walls, Openings, Components

  • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

  Basic: Walls, Openings, Components

  • Configuration: Architecture Architectural Openings flyout
• Conditions for finish specifications are not exported; you will see an appropriate warning.

CPIXML component ID

The component ID in CPIXML format (CPI-ID) is based on Allplan's project number and Allplan's component ID.

This has the following consequences for updates in iTWO:

• When you rename a project in Allplan, a CPI-ID you export subsequently will not change, because the project number is still the same.
• When you copy a project in Allplan, a CPI-ID you export subsequently from the original project will not change. A CPI-ID you export from the copy, on the other hand, is not identical, because the copied project has a different project number.
