Object settings
Auto-update based on value list (selected by default)
This setting influences the values you enter. When it is switched off, incorrect values in the script are displayed in red in the dialog box. When it is switched on, incorrect values are automatically corrected to the next possible value.
Scaleable (selected by default)
This setting controls how the reference box behaves when you update a SmartPart after having resized it in Allplan:
- Selected: the reference box is resized.
- Not selected: the reference box is not resized.
Note: You need to make sure that this setting is not selected for SmartParts to be inserted in wall or slab openings (windows or doors, for example).
Auto-place resource objects (selected by default)
This setting specifies whether resource objects are always placed automatically if the script does not create objects.
Run 2D/3D part separately (selected by default)
This setting specifies whether the 2D script and the 3D script are run together or separately. If Run 2D/3D part separately is not selected, a copy of the 3D script is inserted behind the 2D script and run.
Create 3D preview in all views (not selected by default)
This setting controls how the preview is created. Normally, the preview is created in accordance with the current view. In other words, only the 2D script is used to generate the preview in plan. For all the other views, the 3D script generates the preview elements.
If Create 3D preview in all views is selected, the preview in plan is also based on the 3D script.
Resource settings
Save file in folder
Select the folder where the SmartPart is saved. Subscripts are stored in relation to this folder. Bitmap folder shows the path to the Bitmaps folder, which contains the bitmaps.
Copy bitmaps from: (not selected by default)
If this setting is selected, the bitmaps used in the script are copied from the specified folder and its subfolders.
Note: The folders you specify must not contain more than 100 subfolders and files. Otherwise, this slows down processing time.
Note: This setting is not saved.
Allow countable subobjects (in SmartPart Editor only)
This setting controls how SmartParts that consist of individual components are analyzed. If a SmartPart consists of several smart symbols (e.g. a table with chairs) and the script uses the CALL_OBJ command for the chairs, the report also analyzes the number of chairs.
Quick placing (without dialog box) (in SmartPart Editor only)
When this option is selected, you cannot specify values in a dialog box when you place the SmartPart. The default values defined in the script are used automatically. Later changes are possible.
Relative height (SmartPart Editor only)
Like smart symbols, SmartParts can be given a height setting. You can specify whether the bottom level of the SmartPart is to be based on the Upper plane,
Lower plane or on an
Absolute height setting. You can enter an offset to the plane or the absolute height in the data entry box.
Link to (SmartPart Editor only)
Like smart symbols, SmartParts can be linked with the element in which it has been placed. This is important for subsequent analyses using reports.
The following settings are available:
Consider (SmartPart Editor only)
As with smart symbols, you can specify how a SmartPart placed in a room with finish specifications is to be displayed in animation and in sections.
You can choose from the following settings:
Dependent files (SmartPart Editor only)
The Object uses the following subscripts: list contains the SmartParts that are called (= activated) while the script is running (subscripts). The subscripts are listed in the following form:
SUBSCRIPT NAME STATUS
STATUS can convey the following information:
- not found
- in subscript folder
- in subscript cache
Add Subscript (SmartPart Editor only)
You can add a new subscript. However, this is usually not required. All SmartParts activated by the CALL command are automatically entered into this list.
Delete Subscript (SmartPart Editor only)
You can delete a subscript you no longer require. This makes sense if the associated CALL command has been removed from the script, for example.
Version
You can see the version of the SmartPart. Using the SmartPart Editor, you can change the version number.
The version number is an attribute of the SmartPart. You can display it using the Assign, Modify Object Attributes tool on the shortcut menu of the SmartPart.
Program version
You can see the program version of Allplan. The SmartPart is valid in this version and later versions. If you use the SmartPart in a version before the one specified, the SmartPart has limited functionality. You can define the program version in the SmartPart Editor. The person who creates or edits the SmartPart script is responsible for checking and correcting the program version of the SmartPart.
