You can use the Area Calculation, Application tool to calculate area and display the results in reports. The type and scope of the calculation is dictated by the report you select.

Reports are used for analyzing data in Allplan. They are saved as templates in RDLC format.

Reports can be printed, placed as PDF files in documents and exported to Excel and other formats.
You can change the layout of reports and save the result as a new template.

Reports for analyzing rooms

To calculate area using reports

1. Click Area Calculation, Application (How).
   

   Activate Area Calculation, Application in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Architecture Rooms, Surfaces, Stories

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Rooms, Surfaces, Stories

   • Configuration: Architecture Rooms flyout
2. Select a folder and report in the Area Calculation, Application dialog box

   Clear quantity calculations

3. Set the parameters for the report in the Area Calculation, Application dialog box.
4. Click OK to confirm the dialog box.
5. Select the rooms or stories to be calculated.

   Tip: You can use Find Elements in the Input Options to enter criteria for finding elements.

   Tip: You can use Group Rooms, Stories in the Input Options to enter the name of a group of rooms or stories; this group is then analyzed.

   The report is displayed in the Report Viewer.

6. You can edit the report as follows:
   • Customize it
   • Print
   • Place it in the current document
   • Save it as a file in Excel, PDF or Word format
   • Modify it using the Layout Designer and save the changes as a new template in RDLC format
7. Print or save the report.
