Modifying light sources

Tool(s): Set Project Light

You can change the parameters of artificial light sources (except the Type of light), allowing you to adjust lighting at any time.

Note: If you want to change the type of light of a light source, delete the light source and place a new one with the type of light you need.

To modify artificial light sources

  1. Click Set Project Light (How).

The Set project light palette opens.

The Project light area lists all the light sources defined for the project. In addition, you can see the lights sources in the viewports.

  2. Click the light source in the palette or in a viewport.

Tip: You can also select several light sources (for example, using the brackets or a selection rectangle). As, however, the parameters of light sources vary considerably, this only makes sense in isolated cases (for example, when you want to move the light sources).

The Edit light palette displays the current parameters of the light source. In the viewports, you can see that the light source appears in selection color.

You can change the position of the light source as follows:

You can change the orientation of the light source using the Light target (only for the Spotlight, Conical light and Area types of light) as follows:

Change the other parameters in the Light properties, Shadow properties and Edit areas as you need.

  3. Click OK to confirm the new light source settings.

The Set project light palette opens again.

  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to change more light sources.

    Or:

Press ESC to quit the tool.
