Fixing corrupt component geometries

Options Components and architecture - Miscellaneous, Special + Corrupt architectural elements

Corrupt component geometries can cause problems when you create and edit architectural elements. You can use the following option to check and fix architectural elements.

Note: If a straight wall is missing its axis, you can restore the axis using the Fix option.

To fix corrupt component geometries

1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
2. Click Components and architecture.
3. Click Special in the Miscellaneous area, select the Fix option and confirm your settings.
4. Click Restore 3D View (How).
   

   Activate Restore 3D View in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Architecture General: Roofs, Planes, Sections

   • Palette: Tools Change area in the following module(s):

   General notes: Roofs, Planes, Sections

   Basic: Walls, Openings, Components

   Special: Walls, Openings, Components

   Rooms, Surfaces, Stories

   Stairs

   Frame Construction: Rafters, Roof Beams, Posts

   • Configuration: Architecture Architecture Edit flyout
   • Configuration: Landscaping/Urban Planning Modifications flyout
5. Select the architectural elements you want to fix by enclosing them in a selection rectangle.

   Note: Do not double-click with the right mouse button or do not use All in the input options to select the components, as these two selection options suppress the fixing operation. But you can use all other selection options.

   • Fills (Architectural fill element info) or circles in construction line color or the The polyline does not form a closed figure! Check! message indicate that these components are corrupt.
     Solution: recreate these components from scratch.
   • If there are still difficulties, do the following:
     Repeat steps 1 to 5 and select only some components with Restore 3D View.
     Go through your data step by step (or drawing file by drawing file).
     Look for the components that cause these problems.
     Delete the corrupt components and recreate them from scratch.

     Note: Allplan automatically deactivates the Fix option whenever you apply the Restore 3D View tool.
