Add dimension line point

You can use the Add Dim. Line Point tool to add a dimension line point to a dimension string.

To add a dimension line point in an existing dimension line

1. Click Add Dim. Line Point (How).
   

   Activate Add Dim. Line Point in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Dimension Lines

   • Toolbar: Basic Tools Dimension Lines flyout
   • Palette: Tools Modify area in the following module(s):

   Dimension Lines

2. Click the dimension line to which you want to add a dimension line point.

   On the Dimension Line Context toolbar, the following options are provided for modifying the section delimited by the new dimension line point:

   • You can change the global parameters of the dimension line at any time. Several options are provided on the context toolbar for this.
     

     • Click Properties to set the parameters in a dialog box.
     • Click Match Properties to copy the settings form an existing element.
     • Click Load favorite to select saved parameter combinations.
   • You can select a different Arrowhead for the next point to be dimensioned.
   • You can dimension the height of an opening and/or component or enter additional text.
   • Click Undo last entry to undo the last point you clicked.
3. Click the point you want to insert.
