Dimensioning Component Height
To automatically use the height specification of an opening/foundation inserted in an existing architectural element while creating a dimension line, do the following:
- Click the first side of the opening or the first dimensioned point of the foundation.
- On the Context toolbar, click
and then the opening/foundation. - Click the other side of the opening or another dimensioned point of the foundation.
Requirement: the elements must have been created with the Basic: Walls, Openings, Components module.
To manually enter the height of an opening/foundation, do the following:
- Click the first side of the opening or the first dimensioned point of the foundation.
- Check the Component height box on the Context toolbar.
- In the data entry box, enter the value at the keyboard. You can only enter numbers.
- Click the other side of the opening or another dimensioned point of the foundation.
- To manually enter any text, do the following:
- Click the first side of the opening or the first dimensioned point of the desired dimension line section.
- Enable the Additional text check box on the Context toolbar.
- In the data entry box, enter the text at the keyboard. You can enter any characters.
- Click the other side of the opening or the other point of the dimension line section.
Note: If the height of an opening/foundation changes later, you can adjust the height using
Modify Height Spec, Additional Text or Properties on the shortcut menu of the relevant dimension line.
Note: In the case of height specifications (entered automatically or manually), the settings for Number of decimal places, Round-off value and Dim. text units are taken into account.
Tip: The system ”remembers” the entries you make for Component height and Additional text. Click
to expand the list and then click the selection with the right mouse button. A shortcut menu opens and you can save your entries using New additional text or New additional dim. text. You can also
Delete entries.
