Adapting smart symbols to finish specifications

Using this option, you can quickly and easily adapt existing smart symbols to finish specifications by assigning the relevant setting to entire folders. You may need to restructure the library folders including smart symbols, making sure the folders do not contain smart symbols that are not to adapt to finish specifications, such as bathtubs or windows.

To adapt smart symbols to finishing surfaces by assigning the relevant setting to a folder with smart symbols.

1. Open the Library palette in one of the following ways:
   • Click Smart Symbol Catalog (How).
     

     Activate Smart Symbol Catalog in one of the following ways

     • Menu bar: Create Bonus Tools Smart Symbols

     • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

     Smart Symbols

   • Open the Library palette.
     If you want to see only smart symbols, click Filter and hide Symbols and SmartParts.
2. Point to the folder you want to associate with finish specifications and click Modify.
3. Point to Considers room finishing surfaces in animation, sections and click the finishing surface you want to assign to the folder.
   • Floor surface
   • Ceiling

     Note: This setting applies to all smart symbols in this folder. If smart symbols in subfolders are also to be given a finishing surface, you need to explicitly assign a surface to these subfolders, too.
