Couplers and accessories of the SAH thread bar coupling system
Tool(s): Coupler, Thread, Connecting Bar
The following coupler connections are currently available in the article catalog. Depending on the selected coupler and the existing diameter of the threaded bar, you can select a inner cap or nail plate as accessories.
- Standard couplers T 3003 are designed to connect threaded bars of the same diameter where the connecting bar is free to move lengthwise and can be rotated.
Standard couplers can be supplied as half-coupling bars. - Hexagonal couplers T 3010 are designed to connect threaded bars of the same diameter where the connecting bar is free to move lengthwise but cannot be rotated.
Hexagonal couplers are not fixed when they are supplied. - Recess cones T5050 are designed to connect threaded bars of the same diameter where the connecting bar is free to move lengthwise but cannot be rotated. In addition, the coupling bar is encased in concrete.
- Reducing couplers T 3102 are designed to connect threaded bars of different diameters.
- Turnbuckles T 3105 are designed to connect threaded bars of the same diameter where the connecting bar is not free to move lengthwise and cannot be rotated either.
- Contact couplers T 3006 are designed to connect threaded bars of the same diameter that can only take compression loads. It is essential that the connecting bar is free to move lengthwise and can also be rotated.
Lock nuts are not required for contact couplers. - Welding bolts T 3022 are designed to connect threaded bars with steel components (force-locked connection).
- Bolt couplers T 3103 provide a full strength joint between a reinforcing bar and a standard metric bolt. You can use this couplers to produce a force-locked connection between steel structures and reinforced concrete components
In addition, you can create end anchorage in various ways. End anchorage serves to transmit the forces to the concrete. Long anchorage lengths, hooks or loops are not needed.
End anchorage consists of anchor nut T2002, anchor plate T2139 or T2008 and lock nut or of anchor piece T2073 and lock nut.
The arrangement of the individual accessories is based on the loads the threaded bar has to take:
- Tension loads

- Compression loads

- Alternating loads

Note: To prevent cracks in concrete, lock nuts are used for coupler connections.
Lock nut T2040 is used for tension loads and Lock nut T2003 is used for compression loads and alternating loads.
