Coupler, thread, connecting bar

Module(s): Bar Reinforcement

You can use the Coupler, Thread, Connecting Bar tool to apply couplers and threads or coupling and connecting bars to schema bars or placements in order to fasten two reinforcing bars mechanically, anchor reinforcing bars in concrete and attach reinforcing bars to steel components.

To create couplers, threads and connecting bars

• Requirements for creating couplers, threads and connecting bars: a placement that consists of bars cut to length (placement in polygon) and that is created with the 3D reinforcement model and a schema.
  You cannot apply couplers and threads to reinforcement placed per meter, reinforcement placed in rotation and circular reinforcement.

1. Click Coupler, Thread, Connecting Bar (How).
   

   Activate Coupler, Thread, Connecting Bar in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Engineering Bar Reinforcement

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Bar Reinforcement

   • Configuration: Engineering Display flyout
2. Select the desired manufacturer.
3. The context toolbar includes the functions you need to create couplers, threads and connecting bars. Choose a function and click OK to confirm.
   
   
   
   Click a function for more information.

   In addition, you can access the Documentation and Homepage of the selected manufacturer by clicking the relevant function on the context toolbar.

4. Create the couplers, threads and/or connecting bars as you require. The approach varies depending on the selected function.
5. Analyze and evaluate the couplers, threads and connecting bars using lists and schedules. The following reports are provided:
   • In the Reinforcement Reports tool: Couplers, nuts, threads; Reinforcement schedule - bending shapes (with steel grades); Reinforcement schedule - summary.
     To analyze the products of the manufacturer Annahütte separately, use the following filter criterion:
     Bar reinforcement filter&MID(short name of steel grade;0;3)="SAS"
   • In the Reinforcing Bar Legend tool: Reinforcement schedule - bending shapes, steel grade and couplers, nuts, threads.
