Export 3D PDF

Shortcut menu in navigation mode

You can use Export 3D PDF to export the Allplan 3D model as a 3D PDF file. Using the current view and the current settings for the Animation view type, Allplan transfers the geometry, materials (textures), cameras and lights.

When you open this file in a suitable program, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader Version 7 or later, you can move in and around the model.

Tip: In Acrobat Reader, it is best to use the Turn (horizontal) movement mode (the horizon remains horizontal in this mode).

To export a 3D model as a PDF file

1. Click Export 3D PDF (How).
   

   Activate Export 3D PDF in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: File Export
   • Shortcut menu: Navigation Mode selected - Right mouse button - Export 3D Data
2. Define settings in the Export PDF Data dialog box.
3. Click OK to confirm.

Note: The volume of data is about 20 MB maximum (depending on the hardware). Larger volumes may considerably slow down Adobe Reader.

Note: Adobe uses the U3D and PRC file formats for 3D PDF. Allplan supports the U3D format (ECMA-363 1st edition).

Tips on reducing the volume of data in 3D PDF:

• Switch off Smart symbol foils A,B,C in Show/Hide
• Reduce the level of detail for smart symbols (set a larger scale if possible)
• Switch off finish elements (in Options - Rooms)
