Switching lights on or off

Tool(s): Set Project Light

You can switch artificial light sources on and off as you need, individually, several together or all together. If you want to display the model without any artificial lighting, you can switch off all the light sources you defined for the project.

To switch a single light on and off

  1. Click Set Project Light (How).

    The Set project light palette opens.

    The Project light area lists all the light sources defined for the project. In addition, you can see the lights sources in the viewports.

  2. In the palette, click the name of the light source you want to switch on or off.

    Or:

    Click the light source in a viewport.

    The Edit light palette opens and the light source is displayed in the selection color in the open viewports.

  3. In the Edit area, select or clear the Light status check box.
  4. Click OK to confirm.
  5. Switch another light source on or off.

    Or:

    Press ESC to quit the tool.

To switch several lights on and off

  1. Click Set Project Light (How).

    The Set project light palette opens.

  2. Select the relevant light sources in the viewport by enclosing them in a selection rectangle. As an alternative, you can use the brackets.

    The Edit light palette opens and the light sources are displayed in the selection color in the open viewports.

  3. In the Edit area, select or clear the Light status check box.
  4. Switch more light sources on or off.

    Or:

    Press ESC to quit the tool.

To switch all artificial light sources of the project on and off

  1. Click Set Project Light (How).

    The Set project light palette opens.

  2. Click On or Off beside All lights.
  3. Press ESC to quit the tool.
