Clicking Properties opens the dialog box for entering parameters and attributes for beams.
This dialog box offers a wide range of parameters. You can change these before you create the component or as you do so. Previews show the input options you have.
Shape of cross-section
Note: You can only use rectangular cross-sections for curved and spline-based components.
Rectangle
Click to select a rectangular cross-section for the beam.
Profile
Click to select a profile saved as a symbol in the Library palette. Allplan displays the symbol name and shows the profile with its dimensions in the preview.
You can also Mirror or
Rotate the profile.
Note: After you have selected a profile, the width of the cross-section is proposed for the Thickness. The height of the profile is used for the bottom level of the element’s height (as an absolute elevation); the height association of the top level does not change.
Note: You can change the dimensions of the profile (cross-section) by entering values for the Thickness and Height in the Parameters, Attributes area.
Modification mode
This area is only available when you modify components using Apply Archit. Component Properties or Properties on the shortcut menu (based on initial settings).
Axis
Preview, position of component axis
A schematic representation of the component is shown here. All the construction layers and the format properties selected and the surface settings you have made are displayed. In addition, you can position the component axis by dragging or entering values.
Position
In this column, you can use icons to place the component axis in the individual construction layers or in the wall as a whole.
Parameters, attributes
Height column
The height of the component is displayed here. Click in the column to change it.
Click in the Height setup column to define the height setup of a component or construction layer. You can define the height as an absolute value. You can also associate the height of the element with default or custom reference planes or relative to other building elements.
Format properties

Color
This is where you can define the format properties.
Note: The properties set on the Format toolbar have no effect on the profile wall; the settings you make here apply.
You can assign surfaces or modify surfaces, These surfaces appear in viewports with the Animation view type (and in the Animation module).
Surface elements
Show surface element in plan
When you select this option, the selected surface element is displayed not only in sections but also in plan view.

QuickSelect favorites
Click the arrow on the right to open a list with the 20 favorites you used last.
Match parameters
You can copy the parameters from an existing component. The parameters are entered in the dialog box and you can modify them.
