Distinct union of two structural members of the type Body

Using this tool, one body can be united with another without forming a set union. That means that possibly overlapping parts are not united to one body (as with the tool Union), but both bodies remain separated.

This tool is used when creating body templates which allows for creating several bodies in one template which are connected by this Boolean operation. When creating such (distinct) united bodies from a template, they can be used as a group.

To (distinctly) unite one body with another body

  1. Click the tool Union (distinct) in the task area Booleans.
  2. Click the first body with which you want to (distinctly) unite a second body in the 3D View window.
  3. Click the second body which should be (distinctly) united with the first body in the 3D View window.

Note: The first body is the superordinate body with which the second body is (distinctly) united, thus the Boolean operation is also saved under the first body The respective definitions of the Boolean operations are saved in the submenu Booleans of the structural members of the Bodies in the navigation tree and can also be edited there.
