Union of two structural members of the type Body

Using this operation, creates a new body from the first body as the result of the operation. In most cases, for practical reasons, the second body can be marked as auxiliary body so that it doesn’t remain part of the geometric model. However, it still remains in the background and thus, geometric changes of this body will parametrically influence the result of the Boolean operation.

To unite one body with another body

1. Click the tool Union in the task area Booleans.
2. Click the first body with which you want to unite a second body in the 3D View window.
3. Click the second body which should be united with the first body in the 3D View window.

Note: The first body is the superordinate body with which the second body is united, thus the Boolean operation is also saved under the first body. The respective definitions of the Boolean operations are saved in the submenu Booleans of the structural members of the Bodies in the navigation tree and can also be edited there.
