Container

Index

By using containers, 3D bodies can be placed within a reference coordinate system which allows for handling them as a group.

Therefore, containers are especially used in their function as container templates.

Containers themselves originally only consist of a reference coordinate system which can freely be placed in the 3D model. Afterwards, docking points can be defined in a placed container which are used as references for defining further bodies.

For creating containers, analogously proceed as described in Prism, whereby in this case the Geometric Position 1 and the Geometric Position 2 define the direction of the x-axis of the container.

For defining the docking points via the context menu of the container (clicking in the 3D window), proceed analogously to here for the definition of the direction, and analogously to here for the degrees of freedom and the snapping (options in the property window).

After creating docking points, they can be moved using the same principles via their context menu in the 3D view window.
