Index

After installing the add-in, there is a new tab in Word with the name ALLPLAN Civil which is used for creating the reports.

On the left side of the main window, there is an navigation window with an overview of all data available within the selected project space. These are structured by categories (Images / Tables / Documents) and the particular file paths. From there, you can drag & drop objects into the working area of the document and insert them at the cursor position. Before inserting, a preview of the object to be inserted opens, in which you can perform various definitions depending on the type of object.

The navigation window is subdivided into two areas / tabs: Inserted objects and Available objects. All inserted objects possess a small lock symbol which you can click for selecting if the object should be updated (or not) when it has changed.

All data is shown in the Data Explorer (navigation window on the left edge of the window) sorted by categories and file paths.

In case you closed the window, you can open it again with the option Show Data Explorer.

In the preview, you can mark the columns to be inserted. By clicking the column captions (A, B, C, etc.), you can select (or deselect) the particular columns. Use the button at the top right corner of the window to select (or deselect) all columns at once. Further, using the respective checkboxes, you can select if the header and the description line(s) should be inserted. If the table contains several sheets, you can select them by the respective tabs in the top area of the window.

Insert table from database

Insert particular result data from ALLPLAN Civil in table form

For this, you first need to export the wished result data into the report database (see Export numerical data to report database).

On the left side there is an overview of all imported result data.

The definition of the result views is performed by command lines in SQLite-format in the edit window in the central area.

Use the library symbol to call up predefined command lines that can be edited afterwards.

The text parts to be defined/replaced in the command lines are marked in color. You directly replace them by marking them and selecting a “text module” afterwards. For this purpose, the result data of the Tables (on the left side) are available as well as the elements from the menus Column Context, Structural Members, Cross Sections and Materials.

Use the button Refresh to display a preview of the table to be created on the right side in case of a correct input (or to view the respective error messages).

Confirm with OK to insert the table into the document.

Example:

1. Select the option “Select all” via the library symbol (i.e., the whole content of the table should be output)

2. In the automatically inserted command line SELECT * FROM TABLE_NAME;, mark the expression TABLE_NAME which stands for the table to be inserted.

3. In the overview of the tables on the left side, click the wished table whose name is now inserted at this position, changing the text of the command line to e.g., SELECT * FROM 'SW-SUM';.

4. Click “Refresh” to display the preview of the table to be inserted and finally confirm with OK.
