Create a structural member of the type “link girder” on the basis of a respective existing template (see Template / Link girder)

You can create an arbitrary number of link girders from one particular link girder template at different positions which are all linked to the same template.

To create a new link girder from a template

  1. Select the tool Link girder from template.

Note: You can also directly drag & drop the wished link girder template from the project navigation tree into the view window.

  2. Optionally, edit the name and the description in the opening input window.
  3. Select the link girder template from the drop-down menu in the same window from which you want to create the link girder, and confirm the input with OK.

A new link girder is created in the menu Link girders in the project navigation tree.

The link girder is now also displayed at the cursor position in the view window of the 3D model.

  4. Define the desired first position (GP1) of the link girder axis in the 3D model in the View window.

Note: Select the wished type of definition (Reference point / Docking point / Relative distance / Absolute height) in the Property window:

  5. Define the desired second position (GP2) of the link girder axis in the 3D model in the View window.

Note: Select the wished type of definition (Reference point / Docking point / Relative distance / Absolute height) in the Property window - see step 4.

  6. Define the desired exceedance:

Note: The stations are always taken from the template - see Template for further information to this.
