Geometrical model

Calculate and update the geometrical model

Some inputs or changes of data of the geometrical model are only effective and visible in all parts of the project after recalculation.

Skip intermediate stations

Skip the automatic generation of intermediate stations when exporting the model to ALLPLAN.

To increase the accuracy of the model it is possible to automatically create intermediate stations in the middle of the user-defined stations when exporting the model to ALLPLAN.

Note: There is the option Linearized variation in the property window of the created structural members. The background is that values directly assigned to variables in the menu Variation of structural members do not have a defined transition, and thus the value defined at one station is constantly kept to the next station - and thus also for the automatically created intermediate station - when calculating the geometry. To avoid this unintentional behavior, when automatically creating intermediate stations, you can force a linear transition between the two stations by using this option, whereby, as a consequence, the intermediate station takes the mean value of the values at the two defined stations. Note that this option is always set for the entire structural member and thus the values of possibly assigned tables are also linearly connected, independent of their defined transition.

Full 3D Boolean calculation

Fully calculate the definitions made by Boolean operations for a respective display of the particular corresponding 3D bodies in the 3D model in ALLPLAN Civil

Note: The full view of the model is always displayed completely in regard to the Boolean calculation, the option only affects the display of the particularly selected 3D bodies and cross sections, respectively. Activating this option can have a more or less large influence on the calculation time in case of more extensive respective definitions and thus can be deactivated for reducing the calculation time. This option does not have an influence on the import of the 3D model in ALLPLAN and only serves the display in ALLPLAN Civil.

Calculate timeline

Calculate the inputted data regarding the temporal construction sequence

Check this recalculation option to be able to play the animation of the defined constructions (menu Analysis/Constructions).

Further, when exporting to ALLPLAN the model is created on an additional drawing file with geometrically separated bodies according to the particular defined phases.

Analysis

Auto-numbering

Perform an automatic numbering of all beam elements and tendons defined in the project, which is required for the static calculation.

Create analysis model

Create a structural analysis model from the geometrical model in consideration of the respective additional static definitions (calculates the cross sections, creates the beam elements, assigns the materials etc.).

This option is e.g. required to output the results of the cross section calculation in the menu Analysis/Cross Sections.

Autogenerate calculation tasks

Automatically creates the required calculation tasks for the static calculation from the tasks defined in the construction phases.

These can be viewed in the Logging window. This allows for checking the calculation steps (also before the static calculation, see next point).

Further, in the calculation options the calculation tasks to be performed can be selected regarding their load type.

Auto-calculate influence lines

Automatically calculates the influence lines of defined traffic load superpositions.

Structural analysis

Perform the static calculation by executing the generated calculation steps.

After this analysis the calculated load cases and envelopes can be viewed in the Results.
