Superpositions - Load Cases
In the tab Superpositions - Load Cases you can superpose load cases and envelopes with each other.
Use the context menu to create new envelopes and to open the Superposition View.
In the superposition view you can interactively superpose load cases and envelopes.
For further information regarding the composition/structure of envelopes see Leading component.

The load case results are considered individually for each force and displacement component and are superposed with the values of the respective minimum and maximum superposition components of the envelope. When superposing envelopes, always the leading components of each superposition component are considered and are superposed with their corresponding results.
Optionally, favorable and unfavorable factors can be applied to the values when superposing them (see Edit / View superpositions).
Hints for working with superpositions
- Open Superposition View
- Double-click the menu item Envelopes in the navigation tree or select the entry Open Superposition View in the context menu (right mouse button on Envelopes).
- Create a new envelope
- Recommended Place the cursor at the desired position in the view window and select the entry New envelope from the context menu to create the envelope at this point.
- Alternatively: Click the button in the top left corner of the view window. In this case the position of the envelope in the view window is automatically determined.
- Add a load case to an envelope to superpose it
- Recommended Drag and drop the load case from the list to the envelope. You can also drag several marked load cases from the tree to the view window at once.
- Alternatively:
- Drag and drop the load case to the desired position.
- Click on the load case to activate the edit functions.
- Click the function “Draw” (arrow symbol) and keep the mouse button pressed while moving the cursor to the desired envelope to establish the connection.
- Edit the superposition rule
- Recommended Click the connection line and select the desired superposition rule from the drop-down menu in the property window.
- Alternatively: See next point
- Modify/move the connection lines
- Click the connection line.
- Click the start or end point of the connection line and drag it to the desired envelope or load case.
- Edit / View superpositions
- Click the envelope and the option “Expand superpositions” to show all superposed load cases and envelopes of this envelope with their respective superposition rules and factors.
- Click a superposition line to display its properties in the property window and to edit it there (i.e. superposition rule and factors).
- Drag a superposition line to a desired line to move it and thus change the sequence of the superpositions.
- Refresh view
- Click the button “Refresh” in the top right corner to automatically adjust the alignment of the boxes and the display of the connection lines (automatic layout).
- Arrange the view
- Double-click a particular envelope in the navigation tree to show only its superpositions in the view window (all other superpositions are displayed transparently).
- Repeat this procedure for further envelopes to be additionally displayed.
- Double-click the main menu point “Envelopes” to display again all superpositions.
