View Type (tool on menu)

By pointing to View Type, you open a submenu where you can select one of the predefined view types (Wireframe, Hidden, Animation, Sketch or RTRender) for the current viewport. Of course, you can also select a view type you defined yourself.

When Layout Editor is open, you can switch between Design view and Print view (= preview of resulting printout).

The Print view displays the layout as it looks in the printout. Depending on the printer set, the printout is in color or monochrome.
The elements you have selected in the Elements to print area and the parameters you have defined on the Print profile tab of the Print Layouts tool define what's on your screen. Show/Hide provides only a few options.

Note: So that you can work quickly and easily, the print view also displays elements that are outside the page, the margins of the page and, if selected, the printable area of the output device although these items are not included in the final printout. The same applies to the selection color and the detection color. These colors are used in the print view so that you can see better what you are doing. But the Print Layouts tool uses the colors you have assigned.

The Design view displays the elements of the layout as you created them, taking into account any superordinate pen, line or color. By using the options of Show/Hide, you can specify what you want to display and how. The settings in the Print Layouts tool are not taken into account.
