Parameters for recesses

Tool(s): Recesses

Whenever you create a recess, you can alter its parameters by clicking Properties.

Outline

Specify the outline of the opening in plan.

Note: Before you can select the Freeform opening from symbol catalog type, you must create the outline of an opening in plan view using the tools provided by the Draft task and save this outline as a symbol. The length and width of the opening are based on the maximum length and width of the symbol and cannot be changed.

Parameters

Depending on the type of opening you want to use, you can set the following parameters:

Dimensions

Depending on the type of opening you want to use, the following dimensions are available:

Top level = TL Slab, Bottom level = BL Slab

Select the check box to specify whether the recess is inserted from the top or bottom into the slab.

Height

This is where you can define the depth of the slab recess.

You can specify whether the recess is inserted from the top or bottom into the slab by checking the Top level = TL Slab or Bottom level = BL Slab box. If both check boxes are enabled, the recess pierces the slab completely; however, the recess is still regarded as a recess and not as an opening.

Relative height

Click Height... to define the height of the opening. You can define the height as an absolute value. You can also define the height of the component based on a default reference plane, custom reference plane, offset plane, reference surface or based on an existing component.

Relative to TL, BL

The height setup is represented by icons. Click Height... to make changes.

Load favorite, Save as a favorite
