Recesses
Task area Precast Slab
You can use this tool to create a recess in a precast slab. You can select the shape of the recess from predefined geometric forms or you can define it yourself by entering a polyline. Slab recesses can be inserted from the top or bottom.
To create a recess
- Click
Recesses (How). - If you want, you can now change the type and the parameters of the slab recess.
Use the on the context toolbar. - Set the .
- Depending on the shape of the opening, do the following:
Rectangular opening:
Click the point where to insert the opening.
Round opening:
Click the point where to insert the opening.
Polygon opening (inscribed):
Click the point where to insert the opening.
Polygon opening (circumscribed):
Click the point where to insert the opening.
Free-form opening:
Enter the outline of the opening as you would a polyline.
Freeform opening from symbol catalog:
Click the point where to insert the opening.
- Repeat steps 2 to 4 to place more slab recesses. Otherwise, press ESC to quit the tool.
Note:
You can also use architectural recesses for precast element design. This is useful if you have loaded an architectural drawing. This means you do not need to redraw architectural recesses as precast element recesses.
