Save an old version of documents from "...\Users\Windows_user_name\Documents\Nemetschek\Allplan\2026\Extern"

With this tool, you only convert drawing files of the current version 2026 of ALLPLAN, which are located in the external path, to documents compatible with version 2023, 2024 or 2025 and copy these to any folder. You can also compress the data to a *.zip file.

To back up documents from the external path to any version

• Close ALLPLAN before using the Save an old version of documents from "...\Users\Windows_user_name\Documents\Nemetschek\Allplan\2026\Extern.

1. Open the Services application, select the File menu, and click Save an old version of documents from '...\Users\Windows_user_name\Documents\Nemetschek\Allplan\2026\Extern‘.
2. Select the destination version to which you want to convert the data.

   Allplan automatically converts the data. This can take some time, depending on the source version and the destination version.
   After conversion the data is still in the external path.

3. Follow the program’s backup dialog.
4. The program will then ask whether you want to delete the data in the external path.
   Confirm this question to empty the external path for the next conversion.
