While you are placing a point with the left mouse button, you can snap to points on existing elements. You can snap to the following types of points: end points, midpoints, division points and points of intersection. You do not need to know the coordinates of these points, nor is it necessary to work with construction lines. When CursorTips are selected, a symbol (known as a CursorTip) appears at the center of the crosshairs. The CursorTip shows the kind of point that has been detected in the snap radius. By using the
Options - Desktop environment - Point snap, you can define the types of points the system is to snap and whether the system is to scan active, edit or reference drawing files for points.
By means of linear snap, you can align points exactly with existing points. Here, too, visual aids help you do this.
Note: A cursor snap angle has priority over any point snap settings, as well as any other settings you define in the design aids. This means that only points in alignment with one of the cursor snap angles will be snapped.
