Upper toolbar
Project filter
Access the Project filter dialog box, where you can filter the visible projects.
Turn off
Turn off the filter to display all projects in the selected data path.
Find project name quickly
Entering part of the project name means you can quickly go to a specific project. The F3 key takes you to the next project found.
Left-hand toolbar
Tip: Hover over a function to access additional information via the information buttons that are available for some functions.
Reports
Open the Admin folder in the Reports dialog box, where you can create reports of projects.
New project
Access the New Project dialog box, via which you can create a new Allplan or Allplan Share project (see "Create new projects").
Depending on requirements, the new project can be created on a local workstation, on a workgroup’s data server or on the openBIM Allplan Bimplus platform.
Copy project
Access the Copy, move project dialog box, via which you can create a copy of the project that is currently selected (see "Copy projects").
The prerequisite here is that you are either an Allplan administrator or Allplan project owner.
Import project
Go to the Import Project dialog box where you can import projects or zipped project backups from any path (see "Import project to Allplan ").
The project can also originate from an earlier, still supported Allplan version. The source version is displayed in the Version column in the Import Project dialog box and the project is automatically converted into the current version when opened for the first time. You can use this function to upconvert projects from previous versions after upgrading to the current Allplan version.
Recent projects
Displays and provides the option to select recently opened projects
Share
Displays and provides the selection option on all Allplan Share projects that are currently Allplan Cloud Services open to the user who is signed in and/or can process them.
Local
Displays and provides the selection option for all projects locally saved on a workstation.
Workgroup server
Displays and provides the selection option for all projects saved on a workgroup server in a workgroup environment.
Copy STD as per COR
Access the dialog box Copy STD to COR where you can copy the actual settings for the office standard from the STD folder (generally the subfolder of the central file storage folder) into a folder in the Allplan cloud (Cloud Office Resources, see "Saving and Administering Resources in the Cloud").
Manage COR
Call up administration of the settings saved in the Allplan cloud for the office standard (= Cloud Office Resources) (see "Saving and Administering Resources in the Cloud").
"Project data source" table (on left-hand side)
Teams
Only if the Share project data path is set in the left-hand toolbar.
Displays and provides the selection option on all Bimplus teams in which the Allplan Cloud Services logged-in user can edit Allplan Share projects.
Server
Only if the Local or
Workgroup Server project data path is set in the left-hand toolbar.
Select localhost (where the project data path is Local) or the name of the server (where the project data path is
Workgroup Server) to access the projects saved there.
Select My Projects in order to access your private projects in a free folder you have selected.
Shortcut menu for the "Server" project data source
Depending on the server or project data path you use to access the shortcut menu, the following tools are available:
Import project
Only, if for the project data path Local, the localhost area, or for the
Workgroup Server project data path, a server has been set.
Identical with the Import Project tool in the left-hand toolbar (see "Import project to Allplan ").
Export authorized project users
Only, if for the project data path Local, the localhost area, or for the
Workgroup Server project data path, a server has been set.
Exports the overview for an authorized Allplan user to access a project in CSV-, TXT- and XML format into the projectUsersExport.* files (stored in the workgroup’s central file storage folder).
Linking an existing project
Only if, for the project data path Local or
Workgroup Server, the My Projects area has been set.
Links an existing Allplan data path not located in the current Allplan project along with the individual project list under My Projects. The prerequisite is that the project is available as a *.PRJ, *.ZIP or *.APN file.
"Projects" table (right-hand side)
Note: To add columns, right-click a table header and select Display attribute columns... on the shortcut menu. Click a column heading to sort the projects according to specific attributes. Click an attribute to change its value. Click Remove this column to remove columns. Some columns are only visible when Workgroup Manager is installed.
Project name
Display of projects.
The symbol to the left of the project name indicates the project type.

Project_template
Displays the project template that, if necessary, is used for the project when it is newly prepared.
Description
Short description of project.
Availability
Displays availability of a project.
When the Check availability option is selected, the program checks whether the folder with the project is available as soon as you open this dialog box. The final availability (for example, to find out if the project has been opened by another user) will not be checked until you click the project. The availability of an online project will not be checked until you click it.

Computer
Displays on the computer where the project is saved.
Owner
Shows the owner of the project.
Compressed
The symbol indicates that the data of a project prepared online is compressed.
Attribute columns
Right-click in the table, then go to Display attribute columns to show additional project attributes and to apply these directly here.

New project

Import project
Only, if for the project data path Local, the localhost area, or for the
Workgroup Server project data path, a server has been set.

Linking an existing project
Only if, for the project data path Local or
Workgroup Server, the My Projects area has been set.
Links an existing Allplan data path not located in the current Allplan project along with the individual project list under My Projects. The prerequisite is that the project is available as a *.PRJ, *.ZIP or *.APN file.
Restore project administration
Only if the Local or
Workgroup Server project data path is set in the left-hand toolbar.
Reorganizes the project administration for the project data path that was set. The tool is identical to the reorg hotline tool in Allmenu (Service -> Hotline tools).
Project members overview
Only if a server is set for the Workgroup Server project data path.
Opens the Project members overviewdialog box, via which you as a normal project member can get an overview of the users involved in the project, or as an administrator can also manage the project members as well as their project rights within the workgroup (see "Working in network environments in a local workgroup").
Shortcut menu for "Projects" table - right-click the project
The following tools are available depending on if you access the shortcut menu for a specific project or the whole area:
New project
Identical with the New Project tool in the left-hand toolbar (see "Create a new project").
Copy To
Identical with the Copy Project tool in the left-hand toolbar (see "Copy Projects").
Move to
Opens the Move Project to "..." dialog box, via which you can move the currently selected project to another storage location.
Copy to project templates
Saves the currently selected project as a project template.
Create project backup
Saves the project as a compressed ZIP file (see "Create project backup"), which, for example, a planning partner can conveniently drag and drop into their Allplan project list here.
Save as project file (.apn)
Opens the Save as dialog box, via which you can save the currently selected project as a free project file (APN file) in any folder (see "Save Regular Allplan project as a free project file").
Delete project (Del)
Deletes the currently selected project (see "Deleting projects").
Note: The tool is not available for linked projects in the My Projects area. To do so, use the Remove Project Link tool (see below).
Rename (F2)
Opens the Rename Project in "..." dialog box, via which you can rename the currently selected project.
Remove project link
Only with linked projects in the My Projects server area.
Deletes the link to a Allplan project that is stored externally. The project itself (i.e. the PRJ folder or the ZIP or APN file) is not deleted as a result.
Prepare project for online access
Automatic preparation of the project for online access on a FTP server. When you select this option, Allplan changes all resources to project-specific and copies the user rights to the project.
Compress data / Uncompress data
Automatic compression of the project prepared for online access
Data compression reduces the file size of these drawing files by up to 90%, considerably speeding up data transfer from and to the FTP server.
Manage locking information
Only for Allplan Share projects and in a workgroup provided that the corresponding rights are in place.
Open the Locking Info Administration dialog box, via which you can check and, if necessary, remove locking information regarding drawing files, layouts and drawings in a project. This is only possible for users who have the corresponding rights.
To import the project files
Only for Allplan Share projects provided that the corresponding rights are in place.
You can open Allplan Share Project Explorer. By using the shortcut menu, the project administrator can download files from Allplan Share or upload files to Allplan Share.
Bimplus project management
Only for Allplan Share projects provided that the corresponding rights are in place.
Calls up Bimplus project management, via which general administration, particularly determining user rights on Allplan Share projects, takes place. To do so, you must at least have administrator rights for the relevant Allplan Share project (see "User rights in Allplan Share").
Show Bimplus model
Only for Allplan Share projects.
Opens the BIM Explorer in the web portal BIMPLUS where - if available - the BIM model of the Allplan project is shown (see "Uploading the BIM model from the Allplan Share project to Bimplus ").
Delete local project cache
Only for Allplan Share projects.
You can delete the local copy of an Allplan Share project (for example, after you have deleted the project from Allplan Share).
Export authorized project users
Exports the overview for an authorized Allplan user to access a project in CSV-, TXT- and XML format into the projectUsersExport.* files (stored in the workgroup’s central file storage folder).
Project analysis
A project can be analyzed regarding data consistency or other problems here (see "Analyze projects for potential errors").
Remove unknown users from drawing file and layout file authorizations.
Only if the Local or
Workgroup Server project data path is set in the left-hand toolbar and if you have administrator rights.
Removes all access rights from unknown, i.e. users that are not in the list of those authorized to work on the project.
Hide project /
Make project visible
Only if the Local or
Workgroup Server project data path is set in the left-hand toolbar and if you have administrator rights.
This temporarily hides a project from the project list, or shows hidden projects once again (see "Hide projects").
The display of hidden projects is controlled via the Show Hidden Projects option in the upper toolbar.
Lock project / Unlock
project
Only if the Workgroup Server project data path is set in the left-hand toolbar and if you have administrator rights.
Locks the project for all authorized Allplan users that generally have access to the project. If a project is locked then it is not possible to open or edit the project, or indeed even the project properties (see "Lock projects").
Properties
Access the Project Settings dialog box, where you can select the path settings for the project resources of the selected project and assign attributes.
