You can use the Open on a Project-Specific Basis tool to structure and name layouts and select the current layout in a dialog box. When you point to the icon of a layout that is in use, you can see a preview of this layout in the form of a bitmap.
You mainly work with the shortcut menu and the drag-and-drop feature in layout structure. In addition, various buttons are avaiable. To go to a specific layout, type in the first characters of the layout number or name at the keyboard. Selecting the F3 key takes you to the next appropriate layout.
If you have not yet created a layout structure or if you deleted it, only the All layouts folder is visible below the project node. This folder always contains all 9,999 layouts. In this case, Allplan always expands this folder when you open the dialog box and scrolls to the current layout so that it is in the middle of the dialog box.
You can use the shortcut menu to specify the scope of the layouts and to sort the layouts numerically or alphabetically.
To structure layouts, you can insert additional layout folders with any number of subfolders under the project node. You can assign each layout to exactly one of these additional folders. By linking layouts, you can also assign layouts to more folders. When you select a link, the associated layout is selected automatically.
To increase performance, Allplan provides information about these layouts only if the All layouts folder is expanded when you open the dialog box. This means that if the current layout is only in the All layouts folder and this folder is closed, Allplan will not display the current layout. In this case, open the All layouts folder and select the F4 key to go to the current layout. But if the current layout is in another folder, Allplan will always open this folder and scroll to the current layout.
Note: If a layout structure exists for a project, you can show and hide the All layouts folder via the shortcut menu of the project folder. This definition applies to the current project only. If the layout structure of a new project was created automatically or taken from an existing project, the All layouts folder is hidden by default.
In projects without a layout structure, the All layouts folder is always visaible; the Show "All layouts" structural level is selected and grayed out.
You can copy and move folders and layouts within the layout structure as you need. When copying, you specify the new layout numbers before you insert the layouts copied. You can also create structural levels without layouts.
Via the shortcut menu, you can sort the layouts of any structural level numerically and alphabetically in ascending or descending order.
Quick processing in the layout structure with mouse and keyboard.
Layouts that have been opened by another user are marked with a red lock if the Mark locked drawing files, filesets setting is selected in the Open on a project-specific basis: drawing files from fileset/building structure dialog box. This setting is only available when Workgroup Manager is installed.
Note: When selecting the layouts within the individual functions, you can specify, if necessary, whether Used layouts, Empty layouts and/or Links are displayed. In addition, you can use to filter the layouts. For more information, see Filtering layouts.
