Tools: Modify Wall in View
You can use Modify wall element geometry to split and join wall element and create and delete dummy joints. After you have selected Esc, you can
undo and
redo the modifications without closing the main tool.
You can use the tools to modify either side of the wall. As the wall is visible in a view, you can use Side of design identifier and
Side opposite design identifier to switch between the two wall sides. The selected tool applies to the current wall side.
Choose one of the following modification options:
Split wall element
You can cut one or more wall elements smoothly by entering any polyline. The points defining the polyline do not have to be inside the elements.
For wall elements created with Design (iWall), it is enough if you specify the direction of the joint. The end points of the defined joint are lengthened automatically as far as the next joint or wall edge.
After having selected the tool, you can define the joint parameters in the Joint section dialog box. Select the Section type of the vertical or horizontal joint section. You can select from all appropriate entries in the joint section catalog. Enter the Joint width (in the unit of length set) for wall elements created with
Design (iWall).
The program creates joints at an angle of up to 45 degrees relative to the horizontal with the parameters of the horizontal joint. The parameters of the vertical joint are used for larger angles.
Note: For wall elements created with Design (iWall), you can
Delete an entire section you created manually. You can do this in a view or even in plan. Before you do this, select the
Precast Element Filter and the Connection entry.
Join wall element
You can join elements that are beside or above each other by clicking. However, you can only join elements that have been split manually.
You cannot apply this tool to divisions created in element design.
Dummy Joints
You can create dummy joints on the visible or invisible side of the wall element.
Select this tool, click Parameters in the input options, select a linear shaped fixture, and enter a polyline. The shaped fixture is always turned so that it points into the wall, forming a joint. This applies regardless of whether you enter the polyline in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction.
Note: Make sure that the Interaction with precast element - Negative (subtracting) option is selected when you define the shaped fixture.
Delete dummy joints
You can delete dummy joints of the wall element.
