Axis grid

You can use this tool to create axis lines spaced at any value. You can freely arrange these axis lines in relation to each other. You can define different display parameters (pen, line and color) and labels for the axis lines in the x-direction and y-direction. You can create planes spaced at any value in the z-direction.
To create a custom axis grid
- Click
Axis Grid (How). - Define the parameters in the Axis Grid palette.
You can use the two tabs in the Axis Grid palette to define numerous settings for the axis grid you are creating.
- A preview of the axis grid is attached to the crosshairs while you are making settings in the Axis Grid palette. When you have finished, place the axis grid in the workspace.
The axis grid has
Point handles.
- Modify the parameters of the axis grid in one of the following ways:
- Change the settings in the Axis Grid palette. You can redefine all spacing values or modify or delete individual values. In addition, you can change the Label for Custom text.
- By pointing to a
Point handle, you can move, rotate, modify or delete the adjacent axis. To do this, use the tools on the shortcut menu. To obtain exact modifications, you can use the dialog boxes for entering lengths and angles. In the case of Custom text, you can use
Modify Axis Label to change the label of the adjacent axis.
When you use default numbering, Allplan updates the labels when you change or delete axes. But when you use Custom text, the labels remain unchanged, that is, Allplan does not label axes that you add later. - Select a single axis by clicking this axis. You can see the
Central move handle and the
Point handles at the start and end of the axis. In addition, you can see boxes for entering spacing values and angles. Use the tools on the shortcut menu to move, rotate, modify or delete the selected axis, change the values in the boxes or click a
Point handle and change the length of the axis. To obtain exact modifications, you can use the dialog boxes for entering lengths and angles. In the case of Custom text, you can use
Modify Axis Label to change the label of the selected axis.
When you use default numbering, Allplan updates the labels when you change or delete axes. But when you use custom text, the labels remain unchanged, that is, Allplan does not label axes you add later.
- Click Close or select Esc to create the final axis grid.
To modify a custom axis grid
- Right-click an element of the axis grid and select Properties on the shortcut menu.

Double-click an element of the axis grid.The Axis Grid palette opens;

Note: You cannot use the
Modify Axis Grid tool to modify a custom axis grid.
