Automatic Span Reinforcement

Tool(s): Enter Area Reinforcement

You can use this tool to generate reinforcement based on FEA results for slabs. The reinforcement generated is normal area reinforcement and can be edited using the standard modification tools provided.

To use FEA results for automatic reinforcement

1. Click Enter Area Reinforcement (How). On the context toolbar, select Automatic Span Reinforcement
   

   Activate Enter Area Reinforcement in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Rol Ingeniería Tarea Armado Grupo de herramientas Barras de armado

   • Menu bar: Create Engineering Bar Reinforcement

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Bar Reinforcement

2. Select the FEA results you want to use as the basis for the reinforcement by selecting one of the FEA drawing files displayed in the Drawing file area.
   

   Displays all the drawing files that can be used for the display.

   Click the drawing file in question in order further structure its design results.

3. Enter settings for the other parameters in the Create Reinforcement Automatically dialog box.
4. Enter the shell outline polygon or click Copy in the input options to use an existing shell.
   

   1. Click the first point of the outline polygon in the workspace.
   2. Click the second point of the outline polygon in the workspace.
   3. Click additional points if required.
   4. Close the polygon.

   With every point you enter you can change the support depth manually.

5. If you work in Reinforce with 3D model mode and you have not created the outline polygon in an existing view, you need to select an existing view to which you want to add the span reinforcement created automatically.

   Note: If views are not defined, you cannot create automatic span reinforcement.

6. Modify the outline polygon using the tools on the context toolbar and define the location of the placement in space so as to establish the relationship (offset) between the defined spatial plane and the placement (with Reinforce with 3D model only).
7. Click OK to confirm the settings.
8. Define the shape for each side of the polygon and click OK to confirm.
9. Due to the settings in the dialog box, you may get additional information on the reinforcement you just created. Place these details in the workspace.
