Import NID File

Grupo de herramientas Gestor de planos

You can use this tool to import an NID Internet Document. When importing the file, the program always creates a new project. This is to prevent any data in the current project from being overwritten.

In addition to NID files of versions earlier than Allplan 2023, you can also import NID files of subsequent versions, where data do not need to be converted.

To import an NID Internet Document

  1. Click Import NID File (How).
  2. Select the file you want to import. You can see the information supplied with the file - comments, bitmap, date and so on.

Note: The date indicates whether you have included the resources (line types, hatching styles etc.) when you created the NID file.

The program always imports the data to a new NID project, thus avoiding the risk of data in the current project being overwritten.

  3. The new NID project name is based on the name of the original project. For example

    TownHall

    (name of original project)

    TownHall (NID 4.0)

    (NID project name)

    The name consequently indicates

  4. Click OK to automatically create or update the NID project and to import the file.

Tip: You can also import NID files into Allplan by dragging them from Windows Explorer to Allplan’s workspace.

Note: After having imported the file, Allplan 2023 automatically switches to the new project.
