Straight component

Tools: Wall + Downstand Beam, Upstand Beam + Upstand + Strip Foundation + Profile Wall

You can use Straight Component to draw straight linear components (walls). You enter straight components as you would enter lines in the Design task area.

To draw straight linear components (for example, walls, downstand beams, upstands, profile walls, strip foundations)

  1. Enter the starting point of the component.

The component is attached to the crosshairs. The preview shows the direction of extension and the position of the component axis.

The previews of walls are complete with all construction layers and surface elements. The previews of other components do not include surface elements; arrows indicate the direction of extension. In the case of multilayer components (for example, upstands), you can see the layer structure with the thicknesses of the layers. The position of the first layer gets the number 1, which is the same color as the component axis.

  2. Check the preview to see whether the component’s direction of extension is correct. If it isn’t, click Reverse offset direction on the context toolbar to change the direction.

You can change the direction of extension at any time, even while entering components.

Tip: While entering elements, you can quickly change the component axis by means of keyboard shortcuts or in the dialog line. In the case of walls, you can also change the component axis by means of drag-and-drop editing in the Properties palette.

  3. To define the end point of the component, do the following:

Tip: Some components like walls can adapt to several custom planes. The wall heights will automatically be computed.
