First-time installation on a standalone workstation

To install Allplan 2022 on a standalone workstation

• You have administrator rights for the workstation in question
• You have downloaded and unpacked the installation package (see “Downloading and unpacking the installation package”)
• Read the following before installing:
  • System requirements for Allplan 2022
  • Installation versions for new or first-time installation of Allplan
  • Some notes on the data structure
  • Prior to installing: Backing up data

1. Sign in as an administrator on the workstation where Allplan 2022 will be installed.
2. Double-click AllplanSetup.exe in the folder you used to unpack the installation package.
3. Confirm the welcome screen by clicking Start setup.
4. Confirm the terms of the software license agreement displayed in the following License terms dialog box by clicking Agree.
5. On the General tab of the Settings dialog box, under Select Country, select the country-specific settings to install, and under Select Language, select the language for the Allplan user interface.

   Note: The country and language that are set for the operating system at the relevant workstation are suggested. If the country or language is not known, English is used.

6. Also select here the target paths where the programs and files of Allplan 2022 should be installed.
   • Program folder: Defining the folder for the program files. Normally, it is not necessary to change the folder suggested here. In any case, the program files must always be installed locally on each workstation.
   • Central file storage folder: Projects and the office standard are saved to this folder. In case of network operation with Workgroup Manager, the folder additionally contains the network management data in the ...\Net folder. The central file storage folder can be installed locally or on a file server. For network operation with Workgroup Manager, specify the folder that shall be the central file storage folder of the workgroup here.
7. Only if you want to perform a custom installation:
   Switch to the Options tab of the Settings dialog box and select the components to be installed.
   • Countries: Content, elements, template files, plan headers, label objects, defined standards and smart symbols typical for the respective country.
   • Languages: Languages available for Allplan after installation for displaying menus, texts and templates.
   • Further tools: Additional content and tools
   • Manufacturer-specific user data: Content provided by the respective manufacturers for further use in Allplan.
   • Demo projects: Automatic installation of the demo project “Hello Allplan!”.
8. Click Install.

   The installation of Allplan 2022 will start.

9. After successful installation, you can decide in the Installation dialog box whether Allplan 2022 should start immediately afterwards.

   Select or deselect the check box and start Allplan! and confirm with Finish installation.

   Note: If the installation could not be completed successfully, you will receive a corresponding message. In this case, in the folder C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp you will find the file Error Report of Allplan_Installer.zip. The file contains important information that you can pass on to ALLPLAN GmbH Technical Support in the event that you need to contact them.

10. In certain cases, you will be prompted to restart your computer after the installation of Allplan 2022 is complete.

    In this case, restart the computer and sign in again after the restart as a local administrator or as a user with administrator rights.
