Update an existing Allplan 2022 installation

The existing installation of Allplan 2022 is updated, all office and user settings as well as all projects remain unaffected.

Any existing installations from Allplan 2021 or older also remain unaffected.

How to install an update is described in “Performing an update installation”.

Upgrade an existing Allplan 2021 installation or older

If a Allplan version 2021, 2020 or 2019 is already installed, it will be updated to version 2022. If different versions are available, the most recent version will be updated.

All office settings, the most important user settings, and all projects are automatically applied (see “Restrictions on applying personal settings”). The original version Allplan 2021, 2020 or 2019 is then no longer available.

Any existing installations older than Allplan 2019 remain unaffected. If you want to upgrade a Allplan version to version 2022, you must first update it, including the project data to be transferred, to at least version 2019.

Parallel to older Allplan versions (first-time installation of Allplan 2022)

Multiple (major) versions of Allplan can be run on one workstation. If Allplan 2021 and/or older is already installed, you can install Allplan 2022 in parallel without any problems.

For the transfer of office and user settings from Allplan 2021, 2020 or 2019, you can choose during the installation whether these should be transferred from the (most recent) previous version or not.

Project data is not automatically transferred, but can be conveniently imported from these versions to Allplan 2022 after installation using the Import Project tool in the New Project, Open Project dialog box. Project data from versions before 2019 must be converted before import (see “Data transfer for new or parallel installation” or “Data exchange with versions prior to 2019”).
