Height of section object
Palettes: Create Clipping Path + Modify Clipping Path
You can specify how Allplan defines the height of the section object.
- If Height from elements is selected, Allplan takes the height of the section object from the height settings of the elements in the active drawing files.
- If Height from elements is not selected, enter the height settings for the top level and the bottom level:
- Use Top level to define the section’s upper delimiting plane.
- Use Bottom level to define the section’s lower delimiting plane.
Notes:
- To produce a section which shows the entire building, you must place the Top level of the section at least 20 cm above the ridge and the Bottom level of the section at least 20 cm below the bottom of the building. As an alternative, select the Height from elements option.
- When you define the clipping path within an existing view or section, Allplan always takes the height that is perpendicular to the workspace from the view or section clicked. Therefore, the Height from elements parameter is hidden.
When you create a section from a view or section that is in the x-direction and y-direction, you must define the clipping path before Allplan can determine the top level and bottom level. Therefore, these parameters are also hidden after you have clicked the view or section.
Tip: In the case of an architectural model, it often makes sense to display the finish specifications in sections, too. You can speed up sections by turning off the Height from elements option in the Create Clipping Path or Modify Clipping Path palette. Instead, determine the values for the Top level and Bottom level of the section object from the model and enter them manually.
