Reinforcing Bar Legend
Task area Bar Reinforcement
You can use this tool to create non-associative schedules as legends. These legends are always derived from the selected drawing files or the NDW file and placed in the current document. The program considers all drawing files open in edit mode and all elements on modifiable layers.
Legends can update automatically (depending on the settings you make).
Note that the scope of the elements in an associative legend does not depend on the layout elements placed. It is the saved state of the document that is decisive. Showing or hiding drawing files that are open in edit mode and contain reinforcement elements or changing the visibility settings of layers has an immediate and direct effect on the associative legend placed in the layout.
Before sending a layout with an associative legend to the printer, check that the contents of the legend meet your requirements. Explode the associative legend in design entities in document edit mode after you have completed the reinforcement drawing.
To create a non-associative reinforcing bar schedule as a legend
- Click
Reinforcing Bar Legend (How). - The Legend Selection dialog box opens. Select the folder, subfolder and the name of the legend.
Subfolder: 19 Engineering - Define the type of the legend:
- Select Associative legend of active document if the legend is to update immediately to reflect any changes you make to the document.
- Clear this option if you want the legend to display the current status of the document.
- You can place associative legends in the document at once.
Do the following to create a non-associative legend:- Click
in the Input Options to find elements based on advanced criteria.
This tool works just like the
Find Elements tool. - the reinforcement elements by clicking them, enclosing them in a selection rectangle or fence, or using the brackets.
Or
Right-click in the workspace twice or click All in the input options to select all the marks. - Place the legend in the workspace.
- You can edit associative legends using the shortcut menu. You have the following options:
- You can use the
Update Label tool to add any changes in the document or drawing file to the legend (for example, changes in the layer status). - You can change the page break within a legend by clicking in the workspace or entering a value in the dialog line.
- You can resize a legend by clicking in the workspace or entering a factor in the dialog line.
- You can resolve a legend into design entities. All elements get the same group number so that you can quickly and easily select and edit the exploded legend.
Notes:
- For added control and to avoid misinterpretation, bar shapes with acute angles and /or with modified bending pins that are not in accordance with the codes always appear smooth.
- Bear in mind that elements in drawing files open in reference mode or on visible but frozen layers are not included in the legend. You should therefore use a different color for drawing files open in reference mode and for frozen layers as an aid to orientation.
