Task area Filter
Using filters

You can use this tool to define selection criteria for finding objects and architectural elements in the active, loaded documents. The elements found are highlighted and can be further processed.

To find a specific architectural element

1. Click Find Elements (How).
   

   Activate Find Elements in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Task area Filter

   • Menu bar: Change Architecture General: Roofs, Planes, Sections

   • Palette: Tools Change area in the following module(s):

   General: Roofs, Planes, Sections

   Smart Symbols

   Basic: Walls, Openings, Components

   Special: Walls, Openings, Components

   Rooms, Surfaces, Stories

   Stairs

   Frame Construction: Rafters, Roof Beams, Posts

   Landscaping

   Urban Planning

2. Define the selection criteria in the Find dialog box.

   Note: Vertical surfaces, ceilings, floors and baseboard defined using the Room tool, Finish tab, are part of the room and cannot be selected, filtered and found by clicking or enclosing them in a selection rectangle. To do this, you can use All in the input options.

3. Define the area to be searched.
4. Press ESC to quit the tool.
