Rafters

Task area Roof

You can use this tool to create series of rafters.

To create a series of rafters

1. Click Rafters (How).
   

   Activate Rafters in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Role Architecture Task Elements Task area Roof

   • Menu bar: Create Architecture Frame Construction: Rafters, Roof Beams, Posts

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Frame Construction: Rafters, Roof Beams, Posts

2. Select the type of entry in the input options: Custom / Plane / RCover.
   • Click Custom to create a temporary plane for the rafter placement.
   • Click Plane if roof planes or custom planes already exist.
   • Click RCover if a roof covering already exists.
3. If you want, you can now modify the rafter parameters.
   The context toolbar provides several options.
   

   • Click Properties to set the parameters in a dialog box.
   • Click Match properties to copy the settings from an existing element.
   • Click Load favorite to select saved parameter combinations.
4. Define the length of the region in which the rafters are to be placed by clicking a start point and an end point on the outline of the eaves.
5. On the context toolbar, you can define how the rafters are placed.
6. Press ESC to finish designing the rafters.
7. Rafter design will now finish. Would you like to save the changes?
   Click Yes.
8. To place more rafters in another region, repeat steps 2 through 7.
9. Press ESC to quit the tool.
