Adding a SmartPart to the ‘Library’ palette

‘Library’ palette - SmartParts

You can use this approach to save a SmartPart you have placed in the workspace to the Library palette.

To save a SmartPart to the library palette

1. Open the Library palette.

   If you want to see SmartParts only, click Filter and hide Symbols, Smart symbols and PythonParts.

2. Navigate to the folder where you want to save the SmartPart.

   Note: You cannot create new SmartParts in the Default folder.

3. At the bottom of the palette, point to Insert element and click Insert SmartPart.
4. Select the SmartPart you want to save to the library.
   

   • To select a single element, click it.
   • To select elements in a selection rectangle, hold down the left mouse button and open a selection rectangle around the elements you want to select.
   • Some tools allow you to select all elements in the current document by clicking All in the input options or pressing CTRL+A.

   When selecting elements, you can use filters, which allow you to filter by element type or property. For more information, see Using filters.

5. Enter a name for the SmartPart and click OK to confirm.

   Allplan saves the SmartPart as an SMT file to the selected folder in the Library palette.
