General Object

Task area General Objects

You can use this tool to create general objects based on existing elements.
Use Modify Attributes to assign attributes to general objects.

To cerate a general object based on existing elements

• Start by drawing the elements which you want to combine to an object.

1. Click General Object (How).
   

   Activate General Object in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Role Draft Task User-Defined Objects Task area General Objects

   • Menu bar: Create Bonus Tools Attributes

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Attributes

2. Select the elements that are to make up the general object.
   

   • To select a single element, click it.
   • To select elements in a selection rectangle, hold down the left mouse button and open a selection rectangle around the elements you want to select.
   • Some tools allow you to select all elements in the current document by clicking All in the input options or pressing CTRL+A.

   When selecting elements, you can use filters, which allow you to filter by element type or property. For more information, see Using filters.

   Note: You can only combine 2D elements and 3D objects into a general object. Architectural elements cannot be used.

3. Enter a name for the object in the dialog line.
