Transfer Attributes

Task area Attributes

You can use this tool to transfer the attributes of an object to one or more objects. You can also delete the attributes.

To transfer the attributes of an object to other objects

1. Click Transfer Attributes (How).
   

   Activate Transfer Attributes in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Task area Attributes

   • Menu bar: Change Bonus Tools Attributes

   • Palette: Tools Change area in the following module(s):

   Attributes

2. Click the element whose attributes you want to transfer or delete.
3. You can now modify or delete the attributes of the object.
4. Specify how to handle the attributes of the objects:
   • The New attributes option deletes all attributes of the target object, replacing them with the new attributes. This way, you can quickly and easily turn a brick wall into a concrete wall, for example.
   • The Add attributes option (set by default) overwrites the attribute values of the target object with the new values, adding new attributes to the set of attributes. This way, you can quickly and easily transfer attributes (for example, the brick type or strength grade) of a brick wall to another brick wall.
5. Select the objects to which you want to assign the attributes.
   

   • To select a single element, click it.
   • To select elements in a selection rectangle, hold down the left mouse button and open a selection rectangle around the elements you want to select.
   • Some tools allow you to select all elements in the current document by clicking All in the input options or pressing CTRL+A.

   When selecting elements, you can use filters, which allow you to filter by element type or property. For more information, see Using filters.

   Note: If you want, you can still change the attributes of the selected object on the Transfer Attributes Context toolbar. Click Properties.

6. To start, click Apply or right-click in the workspace. Click Close or press ESC to quit the tool without doing anything.

Note: This tool overwrites any attributes assigned to these objects.
