Animation Window - Selected Elements

You can use this tool to open one or several animation windows parallel to viewports and to navigate and set views for the selected component (design checking). You can have up to 16 Animation windows (selected elements and entire model) open simultaneously.

Animation Window - Entire Model

You can use this tool to open one or several animation windows parallel to viewports and to navigate and set views for the entire model. You can have up to 16 Animation windows (selected elements and entire model) open simultaneously.

Render

You can use this tool to produce photo-realistic images.

Mount 3D Model in Image

You can use this tool to insert 3D models created using the modules in the Architecture family or using the tools in 3D Modeling, for instance, in a scanned photograph of the planned site. This function also determines the eye and target points as well as vanishing points in the scanned photograph.

Optical distortion of photographic lenses, the section scanned of the photograph combined with the resolution of the screen restrict the accuracy of this operation. This means that corrections or even a number of attempts may be required.

Record Movie

You can use this tool to produce (rendered) images of all the camera positions in an Allplan movie model. You can then save this as a show and/or as an AVI movie. The movie model's settings (camera positions, surfaces and lights) are used for the render parameters; you can choose the rendering method.

Record Sun Study

You can use this tool to study the effect of sunlight on a building over a period of time and record the study as a movie. Instead of letting the camera wander you set a fixed view and let the sun wander.

Open, Convert Show

You can use this tool to run shows and to convert one or more shows to an AVI movie.

Animation Options

You can use this tool to define the global settings to be valid in Animation Window – Entire Model and Animation Window – Selected Elements.

Set Camera Path

This tool is used to create the “story board” for a movie. You define different views of the building model. These views serve as the control images/fixed camera positions for your movie model. The intermediate steps and the number of intermediate steps between the images are freely definable (as is the camera path). These intermediate steps are automatically interpolated and calculated by the program.

Surface Settings

You can use this tool to assign a surface (e.g. material) incl. luster, reflection and transparency to each drawing color. In addition, you can set the background color for the animation window here and/or select a bitmap that you want to display (centered) as the animation windows' backdrop.

These settings are used for the
Render
Animation Window - Entire Model and
Animation Window - Selected Elements as well as for the
Run Movie along Camera Path,
Record Movie and
Record Sun Study
tools and can be saved as favorites.

Assign Custom Surfaces to 3D, Archit. Elements

You can use this tool to assign custom surfaces to 3D surfaces, 3D entities and architectural elements. These surfaces are then displayed in the Animation module.

Light Settings

You can use this tool to set the lights for the movie model. The lighting can consist of a combination of sunlight, freely definable lights (conical, spot or point light), predefined corner lights, ambient light and the camera light. In each case, you can also specify whether the light is to cast shadows. Moreover, each light can have a different color.

Luminaire

You can use this tool to create objects like lamps, streetlights and so on as 3D smart symbols with lights. A smart luminaire symbol can have any number of lights; these are saved together with the smart symbol. The lights that are on are displayed in animation.

Modify Luminaire

You can use this tool to modify the lights of smart luminaire symbols. For example, you can turn the lights on or off, and change their color.

Show Pixel’s RGB Color Info

You can use this tool to display a pixel’s r(ed) g(reen) and b(lue) values and thus determine the precise values of a color.

Edit Bitmap

This tool includes a number of other tools that you can use to display bitmaps, convert them to other formats, print and edit them.

Export to CINEMA 4D, VRML, DAE, KMZ, 3DS, U3D

You can use this tool to make files from a model in Allplan's Animation module in the following presentation formats:

C4D-Format for CINEMA 4D R12 (*.C4D)
VRML format (*.WRL)
DAE format (*.DAE) 1.4.1 and 1.5.0
KMZ format (*.KMZ)
3DS format (*.3DS)
Universal 3D format (*.U3D)
Maxwell format (*.MXS)

These files can be exported and edited in other programs.

Export 3D PDF...

Using this tool, which you can find on the shortcut menu of the animation window, you can export the contents of the animation window (the Allplan movie model) as a 3D PDF file. When you open this file in a suitable program, e.g. Adobe Acrobat Reader Version 7 or later, you can navigate through the model. The geometry, materials (textures), cameras and lights are transferred.
