Flat hierarchy

In earlier versions, Symbols, Smart symbols and SmartParts were in separate folders. After you had opened the library palette, you first had to choose the type. Then you could select the element. Similarly, you first had to choose the type before you could look for an element, that is to say, searching was restricted to the selected type.

Now there is only one level in the hierarchy. Regardless of its type, each library element can be in any folder. Now you can search across all element types. Allplan will scan all library elements in the folder where you start searching and in all subordinate folders.

You can easily tell the elements apart. Just look at the small symbol indicating the type of library element:

• Smart symbol or Smart symbol with resources
• SmartPart
