Position of reference point

There are three ways of defining the reference point in a cross-section:

• The reference point is on any polygon point of the cross-section.
• The reference point is between two polygon points of the cross-section.
• The reference point is anywhere in the cross-section. In addition, you can select one of the nine options in relation to the min-max box of the cross-section and enter dx and dy.

When the Applies to all station points option is enabled, the position of the reference point applies to the entire route; otherwise, the position of the reference point can differ from station point to station point. In this case, the stationing is used to linearly interpolate the position of station points in-between (for which a cross-section has not been defined).

Note: The reference point and the x, y and z coordinates of the station point are the same. You can use the General Properties on the Edit menu to show/hide the reference point in the graphics area.
