Entering reference points in the dialog line

The dialog line provides the following tools for entering reference points:

• X, Y, Z coordinates: this is where you can enter the global coordinates of the component. You can also enter a delta offset to the drop-in point. The program then takes this offset into account when it places the component.
  When a point has been snapped (in this case, the data entry boxes are highlighted in color), the coordinates you enter are always interpreted as a delta offset even when Global Point is enabled. Otherwise, the component is placed at the position defined by the global coordinates or at the current position of the crosshairs.

  Note: When you define the height using elevation points, the z coordinate of the component is determined automatically and cannot be modified when you place it.

• Delta point: click this icon and enter delta values in order to define the position of the reference point relative to the drop-in point.
• Polar coordinates: this option allows you to define the position of the reference point relative to the drop-in point by entering an angle, a length and an offset length.
• Global point: when this icon is enabled, the program interprets the coordinates you enter as global coordinates (make sure that the program does not snap a point!).
• Rasterize length: Clicking this icon places the reference point exactly on points of a grid you define by entering the grid length and value. The current coordinates relative to the last point entered are displayed in a ToolTip attached to the crosshairs.
