Tractrix settings

Tool(s): Tractrix

In the Tractrix Settings dialog box, you can define display settings for the tractrix. This dialog box has four tabs:

Path

Display the following elements

Define whether you want to display the axis (center of the vehicle’s front axle) or a symbol at the start or end of each section. You can assign a separate color to each element, provided the Color stands for pen option is not active in Show/Hide.

Vehicle

Display the following elements

Define whether you want to display the tires in addition to the outline of the vehicle. You can assign a separate color to each element, provided the Color stands for pen option is not active in Show/Hide.

Path

Define where you want to display the vehicle symbol in relation to the whole path. When you select All, the program places vehicle symbols at the offset specified.

Section

Define where you want to display the vehicle symbol in the relevant section of the path.

Envelopes

Select the color for the maximum envelope (provided the Color stands for pen option is not active in Show/Hide). In addition, you can apply a fill to the area between the envelopes and select a color for this fill.

Selection

Select the curves the program is to use to calculate the maximum envelopes:

Example of envelopes for a transporter

Envelope resulting from vehicle body

Envelope resulting from front axle

Envelope resulting from rear axle

Curves

Define whether you want to display the curves resulting from the vehicle body, the front axle or the rear axle. You can define the format properties for the elements you choose to display. The Offset to vehicle option lets you create curves at the offset specified. These curves are parallel to the curves resulting from the vehicle body. The Offset between axles option lets you create curves at the offset specified. These curves are parallel to the curves resulting from the front axle and the rear axle.
The curves get the color defined, provided the Color stands for pen option is not active in Show/Hide.

The settings on this tab are not affected by the settings you have defined on the Envelopes tab.
