Introduction

The Rotary module allows you to create first drafts of rotaries in a comfortable and easy manner. Based on the parameters you set, the program automatically creates the basic 2D geometry and the corresponding dimensions for predefined rotary types (with 2 to 5 axes). This approach is based on the Swiss SN640... series of standards (in compliance with VSS). You can define the following parameters:

• Outer and inner radius
• Number and direction of axes
• Width of roadway
• Width of entries and exits

The finished rotary is placed in the layout and can be modified and moved.

In Switzerland, a distinction is usually made between ‘mini rotaries’ and ‘small rotaries’. Mini rotaries are defined by an outer diameter of 14 -26m and the island area in the middle can be crossed by vehicles. Small rotaries, on the other hand, are defined by an outer diameter of 26 -40m and the island area in the middle cannot be crossed by vehicles.
You can use this module to create small rotaries with an outer diameter of 24.5 -45m.
