Checking Geometry for Coupler Connections

Tool(s): Lap Joint to Coupler Connection + Create Coupler Connection to Close Small Opening

When the coupler connection is created, the program checks that every bar in the first placement actually has a counterpart in the opposite placement and that the axial spacing between the bars is within a specific tolerance range.

A coupler connection cannot be created when ...

• not every bar in a placement has a counterpart in the opposite placement. This is the case when the number of bars and/or the spacing between the bars are different in the two placements.
  
• when the axial spacing between the bars in the two placements exceeds a certain value (t in the illustration below).
