Profile section parameters for "Horizon"

You can use this option to enter a value for the height of the reference horizon. The value is limited to prevent the label from running into the profile display. The profile settings and the reference scale of the height define the maximum value. You can click the value in the input options.

Reference height of the horizon and reference scale of the height

There is an interaction between the maximum height of the reference horizon and the reference scale of the height. This interaction is calculated based on the values specified for the height and the smallest height value of the terrain.

By default, the values of 5.00 and 15.00 are set in the Define Profile dialog box. Depending on the Reference scale of height selected, the scale-independent total value – 2.0 cm in this example – reflects a certain height which is to be subtracted form the smallest height value of the terrain to get the maximum height of the reference horizon.

If, for example, the smallest height value of the terrain is –13.068 m, the height values of the reference horizon are as follows:

If this calculation results in a value that is greater than the one currently set, this value is displayed in the Input options when you select the horizon.
But if the result is a smaller value, the height of the reference horizon is automatically set to this maximum value.
