Adjusting coordinates during import

Automatic assignment detects elements that are far from the system origin.

Note: By entering a project offset, you move the system origin away from the global point (X=0, Y=0).

The Adjust coordinates section offers the following options:

• Move data to the origin (recommended)

  This option calculates the center of the file (= center of the min-max-box) and moves it to the system origin. It is equivalent to the Adjust center of gravity to - Origin option in the Settings - General Settings tab.
  
  Note: This option changes the coordinates.
  
  Note: If you use this option to import several files that belong together, the data may no longer be congruent after import. If you want to import several files, you are advised to import them without adjusting the coordinates. Instead, move the data manually after import.

• Calculate and enter the offset coordinates for the origin of the project (when working with large coordinates)

  Based on the center of the file (= center of the min-max-box), this option calculates an appropriate offset to the system origin for the global point (X=0, Y=0) and enters these offset coordinates in the Project Settings. By selecting this option, you virtually correct the adjustment of the file to the system origin during import, thus retaining the large coordinates.
  This option is equivalent to the Adjust center of gravity to - Offset option in the Settings - General Settings tab.
  
  Note: If you have already set a project offset, you cannot select this option.
  
  Note: Make sure the data remain consistent. By setting a project offset, you virtually move all the data in the project by this offset. When you export the project, Allplan transfers these virtual coordinates.

• Do not adjust coordinates (data are not adjusted, not recommended)

  This option does not change the file.
  It is equivalent to the Adjust center of gravity to - Off option in the Settings - General Settings tab.
  
  Note: Objects that are very far from the system origin may cause tolerance problems in calculations.

The dialog box with the Adjust coordinates section appears even when you switched off the dialog box for import using drag-and-drop operations in the Options.

Note: Allplan checks only the main document for large coordinates. References will be imported with the same setting as the main document.

Note: You cannot see this dialog box when you import in batch mode or when you have defined an Additional offset or selected the Adjust center of gravity option in the Settings.

Note: In certain cases, automatic assignment does not detect large coordinates. It is possible that the references also contain elements that are far from the global point.
